Description
PostureMinder is revolutionary software to help you protect yourself and your employees from developing back, neck and shoulder pain, RSI and other aches and pains whilst using a computer.
By encouraging your employees to look after their health through good posture and working habits, you will achieve cost savings and business benefits via several routes, including reducing absences, improving productivity and discouraging compensation claims
How PostureMinder works:
PostureMinder uses any standard, off-the-shelf webcam to continually check your posture while you work. If you slump or lean consistently for a minute or two at a time, the software detects this and provides an an on-screen reminder to help you avoid spending long periods in these damaging postures
PostureMinder is the first product to intelligently promote good posture and healthy working habits, all day, every day. Besides intelligent posture reminders, the software also features other tools to help you protect your health and maintain your performance at work:
- Break and micro-break reminders to encourage regular, performance-enhancing breaks from your computer
- Comprehensive ergonomic workstation training
- Video-guided stretch exercises you can do at your desk
- An hydration tracker to help you keep tabs on your consumption of caffeinated drinks and water
* By helping you to improve your posture and working habits, PostureMinder reduces your chances of developing aches and pains. Good posture doesn't just help you to avoid back, neck and shoulder pain, it also has knock-on effects on your typing and mousing style, reducing your chances of developing painful RSI conditions
FAQ's
What are the system requirements for PostureMinder?
PostureMinder is currently available for PCs running Windows 2000 (with Service Pack 4), XP or Vista, with Intel Pentium Processor 1GHz or equivalent (1.5GHz recommended). 256Mb RAM (512Mb recommended). Minimum 140Mb of available hard-disk space
Is PostureMinder available for MacOS?
Currently PostureMinder is only available for Windows. We hope to release a MacOS version in the future, but don't currently have a timescale for doing so
What webcams can PostureMinder be used with?
PostureMinder will work with most modern USB webcams. However, performance will vary, particularly in environments with poor lighting, or where strong natural light is present. PostureMinder recommends Logitech Quickcam Messenger, Quickcam Connect or Quickcam for Notebooks. If your webcam has face tracking or other fun software features, please turn these off as they will interfere with the operation of PostureMinder
I use a laptop - can PostureMinder work for me?
PostureMinder has a laptop/hot-desk setting which lets the software know that it shouldn't assume your webcam, computer and furniture are always the same as last time you logged on. It will therefore prompt you to set up your laptop as well as possible, and then re-calibrate, each time you log on. This takes typically 30 seconds-1 minute and provides a useful reminder that you should set up your laptop as well as circumstances allow each time you start-up. Simply switch on laptop/hot-desk mode in the Settings->Posture panel within PostureMinder.
